Mouthguard Size Chart
Choose the right size based on age and dental structure. Most mouthguards are available in Junior or Senior sizes.
| Category | Age (guideline) | Recommended Size |
|---|---|---|
| Children with milk teeth or losing teeth | up to approx. 11 years | Junior |
| Teenagers with permanent teeth | from approx. 11–12 years | Senior |
| Adults | from adolescence with full set of teeth | Senior |
Tip: Many mouthguards – especially Venum models – appear relatively small before fitting. After heating and moulding, however, they usually fit securely and accurately.
How do you fit your mouthguard correctly?
Most mouthguards are boil-and-bite models. Briefly place the mouthguard in hot water so the material softens. Then place it on your upper teeth and bite down gently whilst moulding it to your teeth and palate with your fingers and tongue. This creates a custom fit.
Important: Your mouthguard must not be loose or fall out when speaking. After fitting, it should sit firmly on your upper teeth without you having to constantly bite down.
If you wear braces, we recommend special mouthguards for brace wearers or consultation with your dentist.
Note on fit: Volume may vary depending on brand and model. Correct fitting according to the instructions is always crucial.
