Description

In short: The Venum Kontact shin guards are lightweight, flexible cotton protectors with an anatomical sock fit, ideal for punching bag training and light contact. They're available in XS to XL, but note: these shin guards run small, so measure your shin well and consider ordering a size larger.

These shin guards are designed for beginners and experienced fighters who train on the punching bag or spar with light contact. Thanks to the flexible cotton construction and anatomical sock fit, they sit comfortably and stay in place during technique training. Looking for protection for competitions or intensive sparring with hard contact? Choose shin guards with thicker foam padding and extra reinforcements.

Key features

  • Available in XS to XL
  • Anatomical sock fit for optimal fit
  • Suitable for light impact
  • Lightweight construction
  • Highly flexible cotton

The Venum Kontact shin guards are made of cotton and offer lightweight, flexible protection. The anatomical sock fit ensures the protectors wrap around your shin like a second skin, without needing extra wraps or velcro. This makes them particularly suitable for technique training, punching bag work and light sparring where mobility is more important than maximum protection.

Keep in mind that these shin guards run small. Measure the length of your shin (from knee to ankle) and compare it with the size chart. Many users find they should have ordered a size larger. If you're between two sizes, always choose the larger size for a comfortable fit.

Venum Kontact versus traditional velcro shin guards

The main difference is in the fastening and intended use. The Venum Kontact has a sock fit that you simply pull on, while traditional velcro shin guards are fastened with straps. The sock fit is quicker to put on and more comfortable during technique training, but offers less protection than models with thick foam layers and hard shells. Velcro shin guards can be tightened more and are better suited for intensive sparring. The Kontact is lighter and more flexible, ideal for those who mainly train technique and value freedom of movement.

Frequently asked questions

What size Venum Kontact shin guards do I need?

These shin guards run small, so first measure the length of your shin from knee to ankle and compare it with the size chart. Many users recommend ordering a size larger than usual. Between two sizes? Always choose the larger size. Measure your shin while standing, as the distance is greatest then.

Are the Venum Kontact shin guards suitable for sparring?

These shin guards are designed for light impact such as punching bag training and technical exercises with light contact. For intensive sparring or competitions, they don't offer sufficient protection. In that case, choose shin guards with thicker foam padding and extra reinforcements that are specifically approved for competition use.

How do these shin guards stay in place without velcro?

The Venum Kontact has an anatomical sock fit made of flexible cotton that fits snugly around your shin and calf. You pull them on like a sock, and the elastic fit keeps them in place during training. This works well for technique training and punching bag work, but for intensive sparring, models with velcro may sit more securely.

Can I wash these shin guards?

Yes, thanks to the cotton construction, you can wash the Venum Kontact shin guards. Preferably hand wash them in cold water with mild detergent and air dry. Avoid the washing machine and dryer, as these can affect the elasticity and fit. Regular washing prevents odour and extends the lifespan.

What's the difference between the Venum Kontact and more expensive Venum shin guards?

The Kontact is an entry-level model with lightweight cotton construction and limited foam padding, suitable for light impact. More expensive Venum models have thicker multi-layer foam padding, reinforced shells, premium materials such as synthetic leather, and better shock absorption. These are designed for intensive sparring and competitions, while the Kontact is perfect for technique training and beginners.

Customer video review of Venum Schienbeinschoner Kontact - Schwarz/Schwarz

Die Schoner sind für meinen 9 Jährigen Sohn. Als Orientierung, wir haben M bestellt. Der reine Schienbeinschutz hat eine Länge von 25,5 cm. Meinem Sohn passen sie perfekt

Venum Schienbeinschoner Kontact - Schwarz/Schwarz
